2025 HVDC Conversion Platform for the Borwin5 Project for TenneT

Dragados Offshore, under its collaboration agreement with Siemens, will develop, construct, and deliver an HVDC conversion platform for the DolWin6 project for Tennet. The contract is considered a significant milestone for Dragados Offshore, strengthening its activities in supplying platforms for the offshore wind industry, undertaking a project at the forefront of its sector, and consolidating its leadership position in the offshore market.

Pemex awarded Dragados Offshore the CA-KU-A project, which includes the EPC and the operation/maintenance of the CA-KU-A1 Compression Platform for 10 years.

Start of Activities in the Offshore Wind Sector

Dragados Offshore started its activities in the offshore wind sector with the Hornsea project awarded by Ørsted (formerly DONG Energy).

Pemex Awards Dragados Offshore Its Second Pipeline Project

Topsides of the Jasmine Wellhead Platform and Judy Riser Platform

Construction engineering, partial procurement, fabrication, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, offloading, and mooring of the topsides of the Jasmine Wellhead Platform (7,425 tons) and the Judy Riser Platform (9,320 tons), along with their corresponding connection bridges. The Jasmine Field is located 240 km east of Aberdeen.

2013

ELDFISK 2/7S Project for ConocoPhillips

The ELDFISK 2/7S Project for ConocoPhillips consisted of an EPC project including onshore commissioning assistance, offloading, and mooring of an 8-legged jacket (13,400 tons), a bridge support jacket (4,000 tons), and piles, as part of the Greater Ekofisk Area Development.

2013

Expansion in Mexico

In the same year, Dragados Offshore decided to expand its facilities in the Mexican market by adding a new yard to its existing portfolio of assets in the country. This is Dragados Offshore's second yard in Mexico and the fourth worldwide. The strategic decision to acquire this new facility was made not only to meet the growing demand in the local market but also to capture potential projects in North and South America. This yard became operational in 2015.

2013

Award of the Mariner Project for Statoil

Dragados Offshore was awarded the Mariner project for Statoil, further solidifying the company's position in Europe as a leading EPC contractor. The Mariner jacket is the largest the company has ever built, with a total weight of 22,400 tons. A few months later, the Cádiz yard was awarded a second EPC project, Vega Pleyade, a wellhead platform and jacket for Total Austral, with its final destination in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.

2013

Award of Two EPCIC Projects for Pemex

Dragados Offshore was awarded two EPCIC projects for Pemex: CA-Litoral-A and CB-Litoral-A, two large compression platforms.

South Arne Phase III Project for HESS

The South Arne Phase III Project for HESS consisted of an EPC for two wellhead platforms weighing 1,600 tons and 1,350 tons respectively, as well as the two jackets supporting them, each with a total weight of 2,600 tons.

Works on Wellhead Platform for Conoco Phillips

EPC including mechanical completion, onshore commissioning assistance, offloading, and mooring of the EKOFISK 2/4Z jacket, an 11,700-ton wellhead platform (jacket and piles) for Conoco Phillips.

2011

PC of Two Jackets for the Offshore Platform of the Castor Complex

PC of two jackets for the offshore platform of the Castor Complex, including a drilling platform (2,600 tons) and a production platform (10,500 tons). The Amposta Field is located in Spanish waters in the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of 1,700 meters and 22 kilometers off the coast of Castellón.

2009

Two New Projects Awarded in Mexico

Pemex Exploración y Producción (PEP) awarded Dragados Offshore de México two new projects. The first, in April, was the HA-LT-01 accommodation platform for 201 people in the Gulf of Mexico. The second, in September, was the PG-ZAAP-C generation platform, installed in the Campeche Sound, Gulf of Mexico. The generation module weighed approximately 5,000 tons, while the jacket and piles weighed around 6,000 tons.

2008

Completion of Works in Puerto Real

The construction of a 360-meter-long quay with a 12-meter draft was completed at the Puerto Real facilities. This development allows Dragados Offshore to undertake tasks such as the installation and integration of modules for large FPSOs, for which adequate facilities were previously unavailable.

Concession of the Algeciras Plant Land

At the end of 2008, the concession for the land of the Algeciras Plant, which houses the largest dry dock in Europe, was obtained, opening new opportunities for future projects. In addition to projects built on gravity-based structures or concrete caissons, this dry dock enables the construction of semi-submersible hulls, complete semi-submersible platforms, spars, and TLPs.

2007

Contract Signing with Bechtel-Jacobs

The signing of a contract with Bechtel-Jacobs for the assembly of piperack modules for the Motiva Port Arthur Expansion Project in Port Arthur, Texas, marked Dragados Offshore’s entry into the American market, further strengthening its position.

2006

Award of the Adriatic LNG Project

The Adriatic LNG project was awarded to Dragados Offshore in April 2006, consisting of the construction of a natural gas regasification plant weighing 12,000 tons on a concrete gravity base structure. The plant is installed in the northern Adriatic Sea, near Venice. The gas plant was built at Dragados Offshore’s facilities in Puerto Real and transported by sea in modules—seven shipments in total—to the southern dock of the former Crinavis shipyards in the Port of Algeciras, where it was assembled on the concrete gravity base structure (GBS) built on-site.

Andalusian Award for Excellence

Dragados Offshore received the Andalusian Award for Excellence (5th Edition) in the "large companies" category, recognizing Andalusian companies that have achieved competitive advantages in the market through excellence in management. The company had previously received two mentions: one for management processes and another for management resources.

Peak Workforce

The highest workforce peak to date was reached this year, with over 5,000 workers simultaneously developing two large and complex projects: Snohvit, an LNG liquefaction plant for Statoil weighing 24,000 tons, and Buzzard, a process module for Nexen weighing 10,500 tons, destined for the British sector of the North Sea.

2005

Expansion and Modernization of the Cádiz Facilities

In the same year, the expansion and modernization of the Cádiz facilities began, doubling the yard's area to increase production capacity. This, in turn, enabled the company to take on larger projects and achieve higher performance.

2004

Prince Felipe Award for Business Excellence

In November 2004, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Trade awarded Dragados Offshore, S.A. the Prince Felipe Award for Business Excellence in its 9th edition, recognizing the company's achievements in relation to Industrial Quality.

2003

Opening of a Fabrication Yard in Tampico, Mexico

Following the establishment of its Mexican subsidiary, Dragados Offshore opened a fabrication yard in Tampico. This new yard created additional opportunities to work with Pemex and expand operations in the Gulf of Mexico. In line with this expansion, a commercial office—Dragados Offshore USA—was opened in Houston, Texas, the world's most important oil and gas business hub.

2001

Three New Contracts in Mexico

Dragados Offshore’s previous work in Mexico led to three new contracts with the state-owned oil and gas company PEMEX for the development of three new EPC projects: EPC-39, a service and accommodation platform with its associated structures; EPC-60, a service platform to support the existing platforms of the AKAL GC field; and EPC-78, a gas production and compression complex with all associated structures, totaling nearly 20,000 tons. These projects prompted the company to establish a subsidiary, Dragados Offshore de México, S.A. de C.V.

1998

Snorre B Semi-Submersible Platform for Statoil

In the same year, Dragados Offshore began work on the Snorre B semi-submersible platform for Statoil. Once again, the complexity of this project presented a new challenge for the company, as much of the work was carried out in confined spaces and involved the use of various exotic materials.

1998

Entry into the Mexican Market

Dragados Offshore entered the Mexican market as a partner in an EPCI contract for a gas processing and compression complex for Pemex (AKAL GC). This project marked a critical growth point for the company: a significant expansion into complex EPCI projects and an increase in activities outside its base in Spain.

1996

Contract for the Öresund Project Fabrication

Dragados won the contract for one of Europe’s most prestigious projects: the fabrication of the Öresund Project, a bridge connecting Copenhagen, Denmark, with Malmö, Sweden. The company built 49 bridge sections with a mixed concrete and steel structure, each 140m long and 25m wide. The completed project had an approximate weight of 245,000 tons and a total length of nearly 7 kilometers. The delivery schedule pressures were such that two sections had to be delivered every 21 days.

1995

Fabrication of the Britannia Jacket

The fabrication of the Britannia Jacket, foreseen for installation in the British North Sea, began in 1995 at the Cádiz yard. This jacket, measuring 78m x 70m x 165m and weighing nearly 21,000 tons, was the largest project ever built in Cádiz at the time.

1994

Award of Process Modules for the FPSO Captain for Texaco

Dragados Offshore was awarded the contract for the construction of process modules for the Captain FPSO for Texaco. This project marked the beginning of a new business area for Dragados Offshore.

1990

Fabrication of the Scott Utility Module

The fabrication of the Scott Utility Module for Amerada Hess began in 1990. When completed two years later, it was the largest single-piece module ever built at the Cádiz yard at the time, weighing 9,100 tons and measuring 45m x 25m x 25m.

1986

Modular Fabrication for the Mongstad Refinery Expansion in Norway

Between 1986 and 1988, Dragados undertook one of its most important and iconic projects: the modular fabrication for the expansion of the Mongstad Refinery in Norway. This project involved more than 150 different modules with a total weight of 16,000 tons.

1975

Expansion of International Projects

During this decade, Dragados Offshore expanded its international projects, including seven offshore structures for Brazil. A notable project for Marathon Oil led to the creation of a 5,000-ton integrated deck.

1972

Construction of the Amposta Platform for Shell

In 1972, Dragados Offshore began its operations with the construction of the Amposta production platform for Shell on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. This project was the catalyst for the opening of our current fabrication yard in Cádiz, Spain, which was built in 1975. The site was chosen for its suitability to handle offshore projects destined for the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, and the northern and western coasts of Africa.

Pedro Ascorbe

Pedro Ascorbe

President

Pedro Ascorbe, appointed President of Dragados Offshore in 2002, joined the company in 1988 during the Mongstad Refinery project as the lead electrical and instrumentation engineer. As President of the company, he has focused on enhancing the company's international operations, both in influence and total assets.

His work has been key in the opening of two new construction yards in Mexico, a second yard in Spain, and a commercial office in Houston, Texas.

Additionally, Mr. Ascorbe has consolidated the company's position in the Mexican market as one of the leading EPCI contractors and expanded the business areas by incorporating pipelines.

In the European market, Mr. Ascorbe has undertaken a strategic diversification by focusing on several new business areas. He has implemented innovative business concepts that have added long-term value to the company. Mr. Ascorbe is an Industrial Engineer from the University of the Balearic Islands in Mallorca, Spain.

Jeroen Poppe

Jeroen Poppe

Vice President of Global Business Development and Corporate Services

Jeroen Poppe, Vice President of Global Business Development and Corporate Services, joined the Dragados Group in 1994, starting his career within the group at the engineering company Intecsa. From Intecsa, Mr. Poppe was transferred to Dragados Offshore in 2003 as a Project Director for one of the company's most iconic projects, Snøhvit.

In 2009, after managing two highly successful projects, Mr. Poppe assumed the position of Director of the Commercial Department at the Puerto Real Plant in Spain. In 2012, he was appointed Vice President of Global Business Development and Corporate Services.

Mr. Poppe is a Chemical Engineer from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and earned his degree in Refining, Petrochemicals, and Gas Engineering from the French Institute of Petroleum.

Cristina Sanz

Cristina Sanz

Vice President of Operations

Cristina Sanz, joined the Dragados Group after successfully completing her engineering degree in 1993. She began her professional career with the group in the Technical and Planning departments, where she gained extensive knowledge in planning and cost control.

Her experience led her to become Head of Planning and Cost Control for a variety of projects in the fields of engineering, procurement, and construction.

Ms. Sanz joined Dragados Offshore in 2003 as Director of Costs, Planning, and Project Contract Administration. After ten successful years in this position, which included managing some of our most complex projects, Ms. Sanz was appointed Department Director. In 2013, Ms. Sanz became Vice President of Operations. She holds an MBA from Complutense University of Madrid and is an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Ricardo Rodriguez

Ricardo Rodriguez

Vice President of Finance

Ricardo Rodríguez was appointed General Manager of Mexico in 2018. His career in the Dragados Group began in 1997 as Administrative Assistant for International Operations at Dyctel, a group company in the infrastructure and telecommunications sector. In 1998, Mr. Rodríguez was transferred to Brazil as Administrative and Tax Director of Dyctel.

From there, he moved to other companies within the group. In 2004, he joined Dragados Offshore as Chief Financial Officer and was named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2011. His extensive legal knowledge and aptitude for budget planning and cost management strategies have made him a vital member of our team and an asset to the organization. Mr. Rodríguez holds a Law degree from the University of Madrid (Spain).

Santiago Cabezas

Santiago Cabezas

Director of Human Resources and Medical Services

Santiago Cabezas, Director of Human Resources and Medical Services at Dragados Offshore since August 2022.

He holds a degree in Economics and Business from ETEA University (Loyola) in Córdoba and completed the Management Development Program (PDD) at IESE in 2008.

Between 1999 and 2001, he held senior management and advisory positions in the public sector, including Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and Andalusian Deputy for Córdoba. Starting in 2002 and for ten years, he transitioned to the private sector, taking on various responsibilities such as HR Director at CajaSur Financial Institution, General Director of the subsidiary Cibernos Sur, and serving on the Board of Directors of companies like Caser and Seguros Cajasur.

He also worked as a university professor at ETEA/Loyola University for six years (2002-2008).

In 2011, he joined the Energy and Environmental Sector with Abengoa, where he served as HR Director and also held the position of Director of ROW Subsidiaries at Inabensa in the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, India, and Australia.

Rafael García

Rafael García

Vice President of Algeciras Yard Operations

Rafael García Sánchez, joined Dragados Offshore as a Construction Manager Assistant after successfully completing his degree in 1996.

Mr. García's exceptional management and leadership skills, along with his technical abilities, were quickly and widely recognized: in 2001, he assumed the role of Construction Manager for a complex EPC project in Mexico. After successfully executing several projects as Construction Manager, he was promoted to Project Director.

In 2011, he was appointed Vice President of Operations in Spain, where he oversaw one of the busiest periods in the company’s history: the simultaneous construction of four projects.

In 2013, after two complex EPC projects were awarded in Mexico, Mr. García was transferred to oversee all project activities as Vice President of Operations in Mexico. Mr. García holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Cádiz, Spain.

Mercedes Jiménez

Mercedes Jiménez

Director of Occupational Risk Prevention, Quality, and Environment (QHSE)

Mercedes Jiménez is the QHSE Director at Dragados Offshore. Over her more than 30-year career with Dragados Offshore, she has held various senior positions, including Engineering Department Manager, Project Director, and Business Development Director.

However, Ms. Jiménez's passion has always been in the QHSE field, where she has focused her career and cultivated extensive knowledge. She is responsible for overseeing every detail of our Global QHSE Policy, both at the project and corporate levels.

In her role as QHSE Director, she is focused on instilling a QHSE culture among all employees and pursuing innovative and cost-effective methods to implement the best practices in quality assurance and control. Ms. Jiménez holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Seville in Spain.

José María Crespo

José María Crespo

General Manager in Mexico

José María Crespo, General Manager in Mexico, began his career at Dragados Offshore in 2002, joining the Contract Administration Department. In 2003, he relocated to Dragados Offshore Mexico, where he has taken on various leadership roles in key sector projects, standing out as Project and Operations Director.

His ability to manage and optimize complex operations in different environments has enabled him to take on corporate-level responsibilities, leading teams and strategies to ensure the successful execution of projects. His experience includes the planning, execution, and control of large-scale projects, with a particular focus on operational efficiency and the implementation of innovative logistical solutions.

A Naval Technical Engineer from the University of Cádiz, he holds an MBA in Procurement and Logistics from the European Postgraduate Institute and Rey Juan Carlos University. He is also certified as a PMP (Project Management Professional), which supports his professional focus on excellence in project management and the continuous improvement of processes.
