SNORRE B

The Snorre B floater is an integrated production, drilling, and accommodation unit (PDQ). The processed oil is transported through a 30-kilometer pipeline to Statoil’s fixed Statfjord B platform for storage and offloading. Recoverable reserves in the Snorre B area are estimated at around 365 million barrels of oil. The production capacity is approximately 110,000 barrels per day.

Scope of Work: Our scope included construction engineering, partial procurement, fabrication, loading, and marine assurance of the semi-submersible hull. The final dimensions of the hull were 85 m x 85 m x 45 m. According to document OTC 2002, number 14224, the Snorre B hull is “the most complete hull ever delivered by a shipyard. Less than 1% of the total work on the hull was postponed.”
