SNØHVIT

The Snøhvit area includes the Snøhvit, Albatross, and Askeladd fields, located in the Hammerfest Basin in the Barents Sea, about 140 kilometers northwest of Hammerfest, in northern Norway. The project involved the fabrication of an LNG plant to transport natural gas from the fields to shore via a subsea pipeline for liquefaction and export.

Scope of Work: Our scope included detailed engineering of structural joints, construction engineering, partial procurement of bulk materials, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of the LNG Processing Plant, with a total weight of 25,000 tons. The entire processing plant was built on a barge with a height of 9 meters, a length of 154 meters, and a width of 54 meters. After being transported by a heavy-lift vessel to Melkøya Island, the LNG Plant was installed on a previously excavated and then cemented dock, thus becoming the first liquefied natural gas export facility in Europe.
