Pemex Exploration and Production has awarded Dragados Offshore with the contract for the project “Compresión Alta Litoral A” (CA-LITORAL-A), to be installed in the Campeche region of the Gulf of Mexico.
The scope of work of the contract includes Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Load-out, Seafastening, Transport, Installation, Testing and Start-up of the platform, with a total weight of more than 15.000 tons, including the 9.000 ton main deck, 1.850 ton jacket, and bridges and substructures.
The platform, which has as main objective the increase of current oil and gas production, will be designed to cope with the required flexibility to comply with the new operating conditions of the Litoral Processing Centre, to eliminate excess gas flaring, and to cover modular capacity as a function of the impact of increasing production. The compression system will have the capacity to increase pressure to 85 kg/cm2 by means of high pressure compression modules, and will be prepared and ready for the second phase, when the Litoral Process Centre (CP-Litoral-A) starts production, with an overall processing capacity of 200 Mbd of crude oil and 600 MMpcsd of gas.
The Project will start immediately, and will have an approximate duration of two and a half years, including the offshore hook-up, commissioning and start-up phase offshore. The project will be executed in its entirety from Dragados Offshore’s facilities in Mexico.
The deck will be installed by means of a “Float over” operation, which will be the first time that this method is used in Mexico, while the rest of the structures will be installed by traditional “single-lift”.
With this new contract, Dragados Offshore maintains its leadership in the design, fabrication, commissioning and start-up of offshore oil and gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
